What a lovely idea. Wouldn't world be a better place to live , if the environment. wasn't so polluted ? It would. But does green energy solve this problem?
No. The fact is , that green energy makes things even worse. Let me explain.
Let's assume we have a solar energy based power plant, and a wind energy based power plant. The solar power plant generates 5MW when working on 100% , and the wind power plant generates 8MW when working on 100%. We also have a small village we need to supply with electrical energy. It's peak current consumption is 8MW. We have 13MW of peak power , and we need 8 , so we may still sell 5MW. So what's the problem ?
Let's assume a situation. It's 8 P.M. , sun already set , and it's a breezy evening. And the village needs 1,5MW of power. The solar power plant dosen't work after the sunset, and the wind is not blowing. So we have no energy , and we have to buy it from someone. A backup. Probably a nu power based power plant. So what's green on this energy , if you need to have a nu backup ? The main disadvantage of solar and wind energy is the need of backup , which degrades the whole idea (it would be easier and more ecological to produce energy directly by a nu power plant).
The amount of energy produced by those types of power-plants is based on coincidence. And coincidence usually doesn't correlate with out need. And due non-green backup the green idea is just a nice tale for electors (not mentioning 40% state subsidy for wind energy based power plants)
Pros&Cons of a nu power plant:
+ Don't need backup
+ High efficiency (55%)
- Need of radioactive fuel
So how to remain green ?
What about water power plants? They have 95% efficiency , and cause minimal harm to the environment . But it's not possible to build them everywhere. Water energy power plants are also the easiest to regulate , and they are fastest in regulation.
So what is my conclusion ?
Don't build Solar or Wind energy based power-plant's , they are , to all intents and purposes , useless . Rather support water power based power plants , and , not likely , nu energy based power plants.
