As we all know, the impact of the diameter of the jaw crusher is very complex. Rock crushing is simulated in many different ways. The most common approaches are computationally-intensive simulations about the behaviour of rock in the cavity of a crusher and the steady-state flowsheet simulations of a crushing process. For advanced model-based control design, neither is truly useful; cavity simulations require too much computation resources, and steady-state models do not contain the detailed description of process dynamics that control engineer needs.

The potential to use screening devices to short circuit undersize material across crushers has also been highlighted in this study.
